Surf Brand Rip Curl Names First Female CEO in Its 52-Year History

According to an an, Rip Curl surf company has named Brooke Farris its first female chief executive. Australian Financial Review Report.

The 40-year-old Farris, currently general manager of Rip Curl’s women’s division, will take up the new position on August 16.

She takes the reins from former CEO, Michael Daly, who has been elevated to run Rip Curl’s parent company, Kathmandu Holdings. Farris is a former junior surfer champion and has been with Rip Curl since 2010.

Despite Covid-19 disruptions during the past 12 month, Rip Curl has performed strong in key regions in North America and Europe. Its direct-to consumer sales have rebounded to exceed pre-pandemic levels, and wholesale orders for full year 2022 are up by double-digits compared to fiscal 2019.
